At present you can't play chess against other humans on this site. However there are many sites where you can do so. Here we recommend two of the best places for you to play.

Yahoo Kids Chess is the best place to start playing other kids on the internet. There is no chat and no way anyone can find out who you are so it's all perfectly safe. Choose your name from the list on the front page (if you don't do this you'll be called Ace), then click on 'Play Chess Now'. You can then choose between 'Play Now' and 'Create Table'. The only problem you'll find is that quite a lot of people on there get bored after a few moves and disappear without telling you.

Serious chess. Serious fun!
If you're really serious about chess the INTERNET CHESS CLUB is the best place to play. It's not for beginners though: you'll need to have completed at least some of this course before you're really ready for it. Here you can get a chess rating, play in tournaments, chat with your friends, make new friends, watch grandmaster games, have lessons and much else. You do have to pay for it, so you'll need your parents' permission, and, as there are chat facilities you will make to make sure your parents know what you're doing on there.
